Why do I need a dental implant?

• Dental implants are the best substitute for missing teeth and function most similarly to a natural tooth.

• A missing tooth or teeth
• Teeth around the missing tooth are healthy and do not need dental work
• Do not want to have a removable appliance to replace missing tooth

What is a dental implant?



• A dental implant is made up of three parts: (1) the dental implant - the metal post that replaces the root portion of the tooth, (2) the abutment - the metal portion above the gum line that serves as the base for the crown, and (3) the implant crown - the tooth.
