Why do I need a removable partial denture (RPD)?

• A removable partial denture is recommended when there are multiple teeth missing in a patient's mouth, but healthy teeth remain.

The Problem:

• One or multiple missing teeth that lead to chewing difficulties
• Esthetic concerns
• Food traps where teeth are missing affecting the health of the remaining teeth

What is a removable partial denture?



• A partial denture is a removable appliance that has replacement teeth attached to pink or gum colored plastic bases.  Typically, these plastic bases have metal frameworks that anchor to the healthy teeth to keep the partial denture in place.
